WORKSHOPS: "Bras & Balls - Finding Your Connection". Two fabulous workshops with Randy Carter - involving connection points (physical contact) and sensitivity (reaction time) while dancing. The classes are linked but can be taken separately.

These are valuable workshops for ALL dancers (all skill levels and all dance styles!) Learn what it takes to connect and communicate more effectively as a dance partnership. The exercises will smooth out rough or jerky leads, and will develop more responsive and consistent follows.

INSTRUCTOR: Randy Carter
With his "Open Forum" style of teaching, Randy invites dancers to be actively involved in their learning process. Questions are encouraged, answered and explored. After teaching Swing, Ballroom, Latin and Country in the Seattle area for 7 years, Randy is now a Canadian resident! He has been involved in running many local and not-so-local events as well as "connecting dancers and music" through his website project and DJ services.

WORKSHOP 1 : 7-8pm
WORKSHOP 2 : 8-9pm
PRICE: Members $25, Guests $35 (includes one or both workshops and dance.)

Report on Emergency General Meeting

Thanks to the 30 or so people who came out and contributed to the emergency general meeting on June 21, 2008.

Club President Dan Bradley presented a summary of the club's financial and organizational situation on behalf of the Board of Directors:

During the general discussion a number of themes emerged:

Marilyn Brodie stepped forward to join the Board of Directors - Thank you!

BCSDC Music Committee
Due to the overwhelming feedback about music quality we have created a music committee - with two eager and able Music Coordinators (Bryson Rochelle & John Kirconnell) - and a mandate to evaluate and improve our music. Their activities will include member surveys and research into other clubs, DJ resources, etc.

If you want to volunteer your time to this committee please contact Dan (604-730-8830) or Ray (604-943-9656) and they will communicate with the music committee.
